RATINGI gave the book, "Fast Food Nation" 4 stars out of 5. I based this rating off of five main components. The first component was the relevance the book has to the world. I believe the book deserved a 5 out of 5 on the relevance because throughout the book the author mentions fast food and the effect it has on our culture. The second component was how entertaining the book was. In my opinion the book was very dry and did not keep me entertained. I gave the book a 2 out of 5 for its entertainment. My third component to base the rating on was the plot. I gave it a 4 out of 5 for its plot. Although the book did not have a specific plot to follow, the author did a great job of putting the facts in order and making them more relevant to the order of the story. My fourth component of the rating was the characters, which i gave a 5 out of 5. This book does not have specific characters that go throughout the story, but when he mentioned somebody involved in the fast food industry he did a great job of giving background information for them. My final component for this rating is the author's style. Schlosser was very organized with his writing and every time he changed topics, he had a title for that new section. I gave his writing style a 5 out of 5. The average of all these ratings gave a final rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
